AIX Eggdrop

Postby dillona_aix » Wed Oct 12, 2005 1:55 am

Could some one please tell me what I did wrong? I read the faq on polarhome. It said
Read the documentation at http://www.polarhome.com/service/manual/eggdrop/

or at /home/e/eggdrop/doc

The problem is there doesn't appear to be a /home/e/eggdrop on AIX. I ran this command:
bash-2.04$ ls /home/e
ebruno eft0aix ehpravi elixx emre entr0py erbj exe
edgaras eh41 elesende emr enon eoe etalon1

I am sure there is probably a simple fix.

hi
answer is simple... public eggdrop is not installed on aix. I'll do it as soon I have some spare time.

hi,

it is there... not surprisingly, the buld and the installation went as smootth as it can just be - because the AIX port of eggdrop had been developed, and tested on this box :)

I copied the /home/e/eggdrop/eggdrop.conf to ~/eggdrop/, and edited it. I would usually try to troublesoot my config script, but judging by the error messages, I thought it might be a installation problem.
bash-2.04$ ./eggdrop-1.6.18 -m /home/d/dillona/eggdrop/eggdrop.conf

hi,

seems I missed to build modules... you know, I am not an eggdrop expert. I will do it as soon I get some time.

hi,

no... I haven't missed the modules - but on AIX static build is defaut. It means, that all these modules are already included and linked into eggrop executable.

Just simply remove lines from the config file that suppose to load modules.

Hi,
I have just started working on eggdrop again(I gave up earlier) and I get the following error message:
bash-2.04$ ./eggdrop -m /home/d/dillona/eggdrop/eggdrop.conf

Eggdrop v1.6.18+main-fixes (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2005 Eggheads
[15:56] --- Loading eggdrop v1.6.18+main-fixes (Fri Nov 25 2005)
[15:56] Listening at telnet port 37465 (all).
[15:56] Userinfo TCL v1.07 loaded (URL BF GF IRL EMAIL DOB PHONE ICQ).
[15:56] use '.help userinfo' for commands.

STARTING BOT IN USERFILE CREATION MODE.
Telnet to the bot and enter 'NEW' as your nickname.
This will make the bot recognize you as the master.

You have installed modules but have not selected an encryption
module, please consult the default config file for info.
I looked it up on google and it said to add a line containing "loadmodule blowfish" which I cannot do because the modules are static. How do I get the blowfish module to load?
